Don't you want to do music?
Jo Sung-hyun's eyes shook at Park Jung-won's words.
He should have brought up this topic not today, but almost a month or two later, around the end of the year, but he didn't know what had changed.
'Well, it doesn't matter.'
Jo Sung-hyun thought to himself.
He had already decided to focus on his daughter, Jo Chae-yoon, in this life.
But even if Park Jung-won asked him if he wanted to do music here, his mind wouldn't change.
He had already tried once, and he had experienced that the only thing left at the end was regret and emptiness.
He had no intention of making the same mistake twice.
"I'm short of managers, and especially someone who works as well as you, I need you more... But honestly, I've always thought that you would do well if you did music."
Park Jung-won said.
It was the same as in his previous life.
He said that Jo Sung-hyun was too good at his job to waste, but he also recommended him to try music.
"Team leader."
"Hey, you know very well that I'm not the kind of person who says this for no reason. You're someone who should do music. My intuition is telling me that."
Park Jung-won looked at Jo Sung-hyun and said.
His eyes were sincere.
But, Jo Sung-hyun finally opened his mouth.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to do music."
"...Well. That's fine, too. Anyway, there aren't many people who work as well as you. It's good for me from my point of view."
"...I'm sorry for that, too."
"Huh?"
Park Jung-won narrowed his eyes and made a sound as if to ask what he meant.
Jo Sung-hyun wondered how to say it, and finally just blurted out the words that had been rolling around in his mouth.
"I'm going to quit. Team leader."
As soon as he said that, Park Jung-won opened his eyes wide and his mouth wide.
"Hey, hey. This is not true."
Park Jung-won looked genuinely surprised.
He didn't expect him to say that he would quit at all.
He still had his eyes wide open and continued.
"I didn't say anything big because you were late... Are you doing this because I asked you if you don't want to do music? Did you take it as I'm telling you to do music because you can't work?"
"No. I know very well that you wouldn't say that I can't work. I also know that you really think of me and tell me to try music."
"Then why are you doing this!"
Park Jung-won finally shouted.
He was startled by his own scream.
That's the kind of person he was. Park Jung-won.
He sighed softly and continued as if he was frustrated.
"Explain it to me so I can understand."
Park Jung-won said, gesturing with his hand.
He gestured as if to hurry up and explain, and Jo Sung-hyun felt a smile coming out of him.
It was a smile that came out of gratitude and regret.
"Didn't I work really hard until now?"
"Yeah, you worked really hard. I know better than anyone how hard you worked, and how much you enjoyed your work."
"I think I've done enough."
"What are you going to do after quitting? You have a daughter, too."
"I'm doing this because of my daughter."
Jo Sung-hyun said in a firm voice at Park Jung-won's words.
He felt a strong will in his voice, and Park Jung-won paused.
He knew very well that Jo Sung-hyun was not the kind of person who would joke about this kind of thing or say that he would quit easily.
But still, he thought that if he persuaded him, he would keep working...
"I'm going to try to be a father now. I might not be good enough... but I'll do my best."
At Jo Sung-hyun's words, Park Jung-won frowned.
"How are you going to live if you quit?"
"Wouldn't I get some severance pay? How much benefit did I bring to the company?"
"You'll get some severance pay, no matter how much it is. But how long can you last with that?"
"I have my wife's insurance money, too."
"......"
Park Jung-won closed his mouth at Jo Sung-hyun's words.
He had worked with Jo Sung-hyun for several years, and he knew what his wife's death insurance money meant to him.
If he decided to use it, it meant that he had made a very strong decision.
"Please work for a month, no. Three weeks."
"I'll finish all the work I'm doing in three weeks."
Jo Sung-hyun couldn't refuse the request to work for three weeks, knowing Park Jung-won's situation and how the work was going.
"Okay. You've worked hard, and I have nothing much to say if you're quitting to be good to your daughter... Hang in there. I heard that taking care of celebrities is 10 times harder than what you do."
"That means it will be 100 times happier."
Jo Sung-hyun said.
Park Jung-won chuckled at his words.
"Well, I guess so."
He said that and patted Jo Sung-hyun's shoulder and left the conference room.
Jo Sung-hyun followed him out of the office and sat down at his desk.
It felt new.
It was also because he was sitting here for the first time in a long time, and also because he had just said that he would quit.
