Raon looked around before opening his mouth quietly. Then he gave serious advice to Chae-yoon.
"I'm okay, but you can't do that to other seniors. My mom told me that I should be very polite to senior members both inside and outside the set."
"Senior members?"
"Yeah. Other seniors don't accept you as young. I also got scolded by other seniors because I called a 13-year-old senior 'noona' last time."
"Oh..."
Chae-yoon's eyes widened in bewilderment.
It was an expression that she couldn't understand why she was scolded for something like that.
Only then did Jo Sung-hyun understand the situation and burst out laughing.
So that's why he asked if he was her senior.
"Raon."
"Oh, I'm okay. Please don't scold Chae-yoon because of me."
When Jo Sung-hyun called him, Raon shook his hand, thinking that he was supposed to say something to Chae-yoon because of him.
Watching that, Jo Sung-hyun felt a strange sensation.
He had to worry about these kids fighting over who was a senior and who was a junior.
“Hey, you’re funny.”
Beside him, Yumi said, unable to hold back her laughter, giggling.
Raon blinked and looked back and forth between Jo Sung-hyun and Yumi.
“Chae-yoon isn’t a child actress, and she isn’t a trainee either.”
“Huh. She isn’t?”
Raon, who had naturally thought that she was a child actress, turned his head in surprise at the statement that she wasn’t.
At the end of his gaze was Chae-yoon.
He stared at Chae-yoon for a moment, then opened his mouth.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I naturally thought that you were a child model or preparing to be an actress. You’re just so… pretty…”
“Oh my? Look at this kid. He’s good with words.”
Yumi exclaimed in an admiring voice mixed with laughter.
She casually hit Jo Sung-hyun’s arm.
"Oppa, what do you think?"
"What?"
"Chae-yoon, even I think it's a waste for her not to become an actress."
At Yumi's words, Sung-hyun scratched his cheek.
"Well, if Chae-yoon wants to, she can, and if she doesn't, she won't."
Sung-hyun said so and hugged Chae-yoon.
Yumi looked at Chae-yoon.
"Our Chae-yoon, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
"Chae-yoon will become a mermaid princess!"
Chae-yoon answered without hesitation.
Yumi paused for a moment as if she had received an unexpected answer, but soon smiled as if she found it cute.
"If you become a mermaid princess, you have to show me too, okay?"
"Yes!"
Chae-yoon nodded her head.
Fortunately, she talked well with Yumi.
"Raon-ssi! We're going to standby."
Although it's not an official shoot, we need to check how it looks on the monitor for now.
The staff members were moving busily and getting ready.
In the meantime, Park Jung-won was returning with a bright face, as if he had finished explaining the situation.
“Now, Raon-ah. Let’s get ready.”
“Yes.”
Raon nodded at Park Jung-won’s words and replied.
Raon was only 12 years old, but he was an experienced child actor.
He was a talented child who had steadily built his career as a child actor, recently expanding his recognition.
This meant that he wasn’t just a young and inexperienced child.
Raon prepared himself familiarly and sat down in front of the piano.
"Seems like our director is quite ambitious," remarked Jo Sung-hyun and Yumi, standing side by side, watching Raon sitting in front of the piano.
Yumi mumbled.
There was no ill intention.
Jo Sung-hyun glanced at Yumi.
"Aren't you also quite ambitious, Yumi?"
"Oh, am I being exposed?"
Being ambitious isn't inherently a bad thing. It's bad if you express it negatively, and it's good if it's conveyed positively.
"Raon! When the music starts, I'll need you to play the piano as part of the performance!" shouted one of the crew members.
Soon, the music began.
Yumi's title track.
Raon skillfully played the piano keys with a gentle touch.
"The picture looks good," remarked Jo Sung-hyun as he noticed Park Jung-won approaching.
Nodding, Park Jung-won promptly replied, "Yeah, the director indeed has a good eye. Move the camera with that setup and capture Yumi playing the piano."
"And at the end, it should transition to Yumi playing the piano, then changing to a child's figure. The meaning is clear, and it's visually pleasing too."
"Well... I have to make a call. If Raon is okay with it, I can proceed within my limits, but beyond that is uncertain."
Park Jung-won said. Just as he finished speaking, he sighed and continued, "But upon observing, it seems that Raon won't do."
The director called out "Cut!" and stopped Raon's performance.
A somewhat regretful expression.
It's safe to say that he felt what Jo Sung-hyun and Park Jung-won also felt.
"Even if we put a wig on, it's evident that he can't actually play the piano."
"Yes, it's challenging to find a child actor who can play the piano well."
"These days, many kids play the piano well. We need to look into it."
As Jo Sung-hyun said this,
Tap, tap.
Chae-yoon tapped Jo Sung-hyun's leg.
Startled by the child's action, Jo Sung-hyun turned to look at Chae-yoon.
While gazing at Jo Sung-hyun with her round eyes, Chae-yoon spoke up.
"I can play the piano!"
Jo Sung-hyun was slightly taken aback by Chae-yoon's sudden action.
And then, he could see it.
The director was looking at Chae-yoon with a bright expression.
'Ah...'
This... seems like....
